Terms of Service
Effective August 11, 2026 · Classed Inc.
In plain language: Classed is provided to you by your school. Be a decent member of your campus community, don’t misuse the platform, and remember that your school’s own codes of conduct still apply. You own what you post; we need limited rights to host and display it so the app works. The Services are not for emergencies.
The agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Classed Inc., a Texas corporation (“Classed,” “we,” “us”), and govern your use of the Classed mobile apps, web dashboards, and related services (the “Services”). By creating a session, signing in, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1.Who can use Classed
The Services are available to students, faculty, and staff of institutions that have a services agreement with Classed (your “Institution”). Accounts are created and managed by your Institution — there is no self-signup — and you must sign in through your Institution’s single sign-on. You must be at least 18 years old. If your affiliation with your Institution ends, or your Institution’s agreement with Classed ends, your access ends too.
2.Your Institution’s agreement comes first
Classed provides the Services to your Institution under a services agreement and a data processing agreement. Your Institution controls the data in the platform and decides which features are enabled. If these Terms ever conflict with Classed’s agreements with your Institution regarding your data or education records, those agreements control. Your Institution’s academic-integrity rules, codes of conduct, and IT policies apply to your use of the Services in addition to these Terms.
3.Your account
You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your school credentials secure — Classed never sees your password — and tell your Institution promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. Do not share your account or access anyone else’s.
4.Your content
You own what you create. Posts, stories, messages, comments, files, whiteboard contributions, and other content you submit (“Your Content”) remain yours (or your Institution’s, where its policies say so).
License to us. So the Services can function, you grant Classed a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, and display Your Content — solely to operate, provide, secure, and support the Services for your Institution, consistent with our Privacy Policy and our agreements with your Institution. This license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Services, except for residual backup copies that age out in the ordinary course and records we must keep for safety or legal reasons.
Your responsibility. You represent that you have the rights to what you post and that it doesn’t violate law or others’ rights (including privacy, copyright, and trademark).
5.Acceptable use
Do not:
- harass, threaten, intimidate, or bully anyone, or post content that is hateful, discriminatory, or sexually exploitative;
- impersonate any person, misrepresent your affiliation, or create accounts by fraud;
- post content or take actions that violate law, your Institution’s policies, or academic integrity (including uploading exam materials or completed assignments for others to copy);
- upload malware or attempt to probe, disable, overload, or circumvent security or access controls (including tenant boundaries between schools);
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-download data or content from the Services, or use automated means to access them except through interfaces we provide;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Services, except where law permits despite this restriction;
- use the Services to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages, or for any commercial purpose outside your campus role;
- attempt to re-identify de-identified data, or collect other users’ personal information beyond what the Services intentionally display to you;
- use the AI assistant to generate content that violates these Terms, or attempt to extract other users’ data from it.
6.Moderation and enforcement
Messages in school-managed spaces (such as class channels) are screened by automated moderation; direct messages and private, invite-only groups are not. Flagged content is reviewed, and consequences — content removal, muting, suspension, or referral to your Institution — are decided by people, not machines. You can report content or behavior in-app; you can also appeal moderation decisions in-app. Serious matters may be escalated to your Institution under its policies. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice where reasonably necessary to protect the community or the Services.
7.Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we handle and why, including our commitments: no selling personal information, no advertising, no third-party analytics trackers, and no training AI models on your data. It is part of these Terms.
8.AI features
The campus assistant and other AI features generate responses automatically and can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated. Verify important information — deadlines, requirements, policies — with your Institution before relying on it. AI outputs are not academic, legal, medical, or financial advice, and no adverse action is taken against you based solely on an AI output.
9.Not for emergencies
The Services are not an emergency service, a counseling service, or a crisis line, and are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, call 911, campus safety, or the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Wellness-related features only link you to your Institution’s own resources.
10.Classed’s property
The Services — including software, design, logos, and everything other than Your Content and your Institution’s data — belong to Classed or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the apps and dashboards for their intended purpose during your affiliation with your Institution. No other rights are granted.
11.Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act to support@classedcampus.com including: identification of the work and the infringing material, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices, including removing content and, for repeat infringers, terminating access.
12.Third-party services
The Services may link to or interoperate with services your Institution operates (such as its learning-management system) or third-party sites. Those are governed by their own terms, and Classed is not responsible for them.
13.App store terms
If you downloaded the app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, the store’s standard terms also apply. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms, have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and are not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. You represent that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. government restricted-party list.
14.Termination
You can stop using the Services at any time; to delete your account, see Account deletion (accounts are Institution-managed — see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end your access for violation of these Terms, at your Institution’s direction, or when your Institution’s agreement with Classed ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (4 through 20, as applicable) survive termination.
15.Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Classed disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that content (including AI output) is accurate or reliable. You use the Services at your own discretion; your relationship regarding grades, records, and academic decisions is with your Institution.
16.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: Classed will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or relating to the Services or these Terms; and Classed’s total liability to you for all claims will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, and nothing in these Terms limits rights your Institution has under its agreements with Classed or rights you have that cannot be waived.
17.Indemnity
You will defend and hold Classed harmless from claims arising out of Your Content or your violation of these Terms or of others’ rights, to the extent permitted by applicable law and your Institution’s policies.
18.Changes to the Services or Terms
We may modify the Services over time. If we materially change these Terms, we will post the updated Terms and notify users in-app (and your Institution) before they take effect; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Changes affecting your Institution’s data are governed by our agreements with your Institution, not by these Terms.
19.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or the Services, and each party consents to venue there.
20.Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Classed about the Services (your Institution’s agreements govern the Institution relationship). If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets with notice to your Institution.
